« on: July 01, 2008, 06:10:30 PM »
haven,t been out since fathers day.left home this morning when fishing partner Dave got here at about 5:30,stopped at bait store Sayreville and picked up some smelts, sand eels, squid strips and some gulp.launched boat and fishing back bay around 7,day started slow,a pick here and there but no keepers, had quite a bit of action vicinity of Raritan Bay light house but no keepers,a lot of the fish were taken on the gulp.I managed to get the first keeper off the rock pile off the ward point secondary channel, just over 18 inches, moved to #1 buoy Keyport, nothing, moved back to train bridge and Dave caught 2 just over 18 inches between RR bridge and sail boat moorings Perth Amboy,we tried fishing deep water in the channels but came up with only a couple of sea robins.headed home at about 2:30 with our 3 keepers,at least we have enough for a taste.flushed outboard at home and left trailer hitched up to truck, going to give shot again tomorrow morning.

Nice report.

FYI, I've been fishing on a backbay party boat the past 2 weekends and both times we fished not to far east of where you were. Buoy #47 in the Reach to be exact. One night the fluke were on the red side & the other night on the green side. Both trips yielded a nice catch of keeper fluke to #6.
