Brain Fart
« on: July 07, 2008, 10:18:52 AM »
So I'm attempting to tie a tandem rig (2 hooks snelled about 3"s apart) last night & I had the ultimate brain fart. I completely forgot how to snell a hook (something that I've done millions of times). I mean I completely was clueless. At first a slight panic set in because 1-thinking this can't be happening and 2-my family has bee bustin' my nuts the past 2 weeks saying I have CRS Syndrome (Can't Remember Sheet). I try for about 15 minutes to snell a hook with no luck. I then decide to look on the web-but everyone has a different version & to be honest reading those instructions is like reading Chinese directions on how to build a piece of Swedish furniture. So I sit down and calmly go through the hand motions, it started to come back to me. I tied 2 perfect snells & decided to leave it at that. Went to my work bench this morning and tied another 2 perfect snells.

Haven't had a massive brain fart like that in a long time........

rofla That exact thing happened to me over the winter!  Only I was in the middle of tying a bunch of hooks when it happened!  I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.  So I just walked away from it for a little while.  When I started tying again it all came right back to me.  Weird and scary at the same time! ;D

That's not a concern yet. Wait till you get to the point where you are going to clip the tag end of the line and clip the running line instead, twice.  ;D
Clip the wrong part, re-tie, and clip the freakin wrong part again.  rgmn rgmn

but in reality, i cant tie a snell to save my life. just never works out for whatever reason. maybe its the chinese directions for swedish furniture philosophy
