07/14/08 Dad's 47 lb Striper & Matt's 34 lber ! ! !

Well, after Thursday's great trip aboard the Renegade, I thought I would try for a repeat, but also brought along my son Matthew.  The weather was great.  The seas were fairly calm, and the wind was un-noticable.

After snagging our bunker which was a little difficult, we headed north towards Asbury and quickly started marking fish.  Unbelievable for this time of year, but I keep telling everyone that THEY'RE STILL HERE . . .

WHAT A NIGHT AGAIN ! ! !
EVEN BETTER THAN THURSDAY ! ! ! 

We pulled in one fish, two fish, three fish, four . . . Dad, what's taking you so long Dad?  Gee Dad, that fish getting the better of you?  OMG Dad, you've got a MONSTER ! ! !  Dad pulled in a 47 pound, 48 inch striper AND on a DEAD bunker cause by then we were out of live ones . . .

Matt pulled in HIS FIRST EVER STRIPER, a 34 pound, 42 incher, but I failed to get an individual picture in the chaos. 

I think my fish were both around the 26 pound mark, at least the one I weighed was.

We all only kept two fish each, although we had bonus tags and we each released fish in the 25-30 pound range.

Another AMAZING night Striper Fishing ! ! !
And what a FANTASTIC way to end my Spring Striper Season (23 Trips In All), with my Dad and my son Matt, both reaching personal goals, and personal bests.

Treebeard, if you check on the Bassbarn, I am the StriperQueen there, but when I got into hunting several years ago, I needed a more appropriate name, so . . . MsGrit I became  ;D

Capt Bob, I KNOW YOUR BOAT CAN, ABSOLUTELY CAN get to where they're at ! ! ! You just need LOTS and LOTS of bunker, cause they've just been tearing through them like they haven't been fed in a week.  Monsters I tell ya, there's MONSTERS there  ;)

Nice catch, again.
But no need to end the season now. As long as the bunker are around, the bass will be with them. Although it is an early morning or night catch now.  t^

As you said, they are STILL here.
