Big Fish Week
« on: July 16, 2008, 10:56:50 AM »
I spent some time in NY waters this week fishing both my striper tubes and some baits shad/scup.

The tube action is red hot with some decent numbers but mostly schoolie and small keeper size fish. Interestingly enough, both the Bubblegum and Ebony tubes caught well side by side under a bright sun.

The hickory shad and few legal size scup I found did the trick on beautiful stripers with the biggest at 50" 44lbs. These fish came in waters from 40-70ft right on the bottom at the turn of the tides.

We released a ton of fish this week and I'm really encouraging clients to keep just one for the table.

Here's a few pics...
