I have heard some reports about Atlantic County Park Lake Lenape right in Mays Landing.  Lake has largemouth bass, pickerel, catfish and your typical panfish.  Pickerel are doing better than bass it seems.  The park is really nice too!  Not many other places to fish down there that isn't a good ride.

Good Luck and let me know how you did and how you liked the lake!!

Back from my camping expedition and unfortunately have to go back to work tomorrow. We all had a great time however the fishing part of the trip didn't happen so much. We got to the camp site and the "fishing pond" that was there had about a foot of water in it and the river was very low. So we decided to head to lake lenape which was only about 5 minutes away. However every day we went there it was just too windy to fish. The park ranger said that the fishing is good though when there is little to no wind, so I will be planning a trip down there sometime soon.

Glad the camping part turned out good. Too bad about the fishing aspect of the trip. Too much wind is never any good no matter where you are going to fish.

Get that second trip together and let us know how you did.  t^

Sorry your fishing didn't turn out so well!  Camping sounds fun!  I was not aware of the wind being so bad there...but I knew fishing was good in there!!

Im not sure what the wind was all about. At first I thought I was just being stubborn because I didn't want to be frustrated with trying to cast into it but when the park ranger told me no one else was fishing because of the wind I felt better, lol.

I don't blame you!!  I will fish all day and not catch one thing and it doesn't bother me...BUT after 10 casts and 10 knots that take 10+ minutes to unknot b/c of the wind...forget it my patience are spent!!  ;D  Not to mention it is so hard to geta cast out distance wise and if you are baitfishing, the wind pushes it back into the shore!!

Now you know how it is to fish the surf during a Nor'ester.  Just imagine if the temp was close to freezing.  Got to love it.
