Cristobal heading North
« on: July 21, 2008, 12:10:05 PM »
Just in case you have been out of touch Tropical Storm Cristobal will be passing by and causing the waters off NJ to be a little sloppy.

If you are going to venture out be careful and consult what ever means you use  to check sea conditions.

They are saying by Wed seas will be up to 8 - 9 feet.

Just a heads up guys... slt

Can you imagine if it was headed right at us.  The only good thing it might give us a break from the heat.  I just cleaned the pool and changed the filter and it is already 90 out there.

I like warm but I think we are averaging higher temps than Florida.  :P

Thanks Paul for the heads up!!  Second storm that's come close this year.  NJ is past due for a tropical storm or hurricane.  Seems like a lot of weather systems coming off of Africa are coming up the eastern seaboard.  Only a matter of time!!

It definitely has been hot!  Kind of getting tired of the AC.  I want to open the windows and have fresh air, but when the air is 90+ degrees and 90% humidity...the first option is better.

One positive thing out of the storm is the churning seas will help even out the temps a bit.  The low inshore temps have been keeping the fish off the bite.  But crabbing has been getting hot from Seaside Park north in the bay.

Very true!!

I have to hit the bays/rivers and do some crabbing!  I love eating those fine blue clawed crustaceans!
