7/29 Seawaren/RB Report
« on: July 30, 2008, 08:54:16 AM »
10 "usual suspects" showed up for the 7 AM start on the JP II.

A tug/barge stirred up the triangle area pretty well so the Capt shot past the triangle directly to the 14 bouy of the Reach ....had the perfect west wind/outgoing tide that set up a nice drift up the channel........lots of nice fish caught, but only one keeper for the boat.

Moved to Flynns Knoll and had another nice drift.....lots of action, but no keeps.

Capt moved to the SH channel to fish the slack and beginning of the incoming.....again, lots of action, but no keeps...caught a stargazer there.

Wind against tide for the last hour of fishing made for a slow down in the bite.....headed back in...nice ride across the bay back to Seawaren........at the dock at 3:10

One keeper for the boat today....these regs suck!

Way too many nice fish being put back. Absolutely no reason why the regs need to be as high as they are.  nosmly

And to think, NY regs are even worse!  rgmn rgmn

I agree about the regs.  Why not lower the size to where it was last year and have a 4 or 5 fish bag limit.  Who ever comes home w/ 8 fish per man anyway.

Nice report thanks. Sounds a bit like my last fluke outing-- we had over 50 fluke, with at least 30 between 17-18", but NO KEEPS. My freezer is getting low....

Nice report!!

The Regs do not help with keepers.  Unfortunately, NJ's Regs are shorter than almost every state on the East Coast! 5hrug
