The Time Has Come..
« on: July 31, 2008, 05:38:00 PM »
Congratulations to all!!!

We have out grown our present server..  as you can tell by the slow loads on the forum.
The next step is a dedicated server..  dedicated to just NJ Saltwater Fisherman.com

It is being built as I type..

I would like to Thank every Sponsor on this web site for their contribution to us!!..  because these things are not cheap to build and run...  and with out them.. it would be a tough load to bear....

Thank You for your support Guys!!!

I will keep everyone up to date on the move...  it will take some time..  but will be done at night.

Maybe this Weekend...

I thought it was my pc also. Was gonna run out and buy a new one. I guess I won't have to now, so I can use that $$$ for more fishing gear.  TT^

the amount of search bots that are tearing this site up every minute..

This site kicks a$$.

Glad to hear that. The site has slowed down as of late. Hopefully the dedicated server will resolve the issue for at least a few months...but the way its growing who knows?  TT^

This is a little more entailed than I thought.  Fact is it's the search bots that are hurting us..  Yahoo is the trouble maker..  This site will hold 300 people on at one time.. but the way the Spiders index us..  they are the ones slowing us down.. I added a file to try and slow them down for now.  Yahoo for the most part.  Having 100's of spiders on your site is great!!  it shows your popularity..  But it also hurts..  It will take a day or so for them to follow the new rules i set for them..  the weeks are kinda slow.  so we'll see..

We will be upgrading..  but I want to fix the problem here..  not take it with us t^

Remember.  we are more than just a forum..  People hit those videos every day..  There is a lot going on here t^  More than any other Fishing Site IMO..

We are moving to a dedicated Server.  should be done within 24 Hrs t^

Took the past few days to make sure the site isn't the problem.  Didn't want to take the issues to a new Server..

Our Problem is the amount of Data / Users hitting that Data.  and the search engines tearing thru/ it like a wild fire.

Again.  Lets thank or sponsors for this New Server t^
