Out with the wife and 3 sons for a scenic ride around Deal. Was near the Red Brick Church, lots of boats including the Norma K-3. Ocean calm around 2pm, wife likely would'nt get sick, and she seemed uncharacteristically game, so we dropped some lines in. Almost non-stop action with shorts around 15 inches, and a few Robins. Fluke hit everything- live keelies, fluke belly, sea robin belly, spearing- in just about any combo. No keepers after 1.5 hrs, but the point is this is the best fluking I've seen all year. Water was warm, NW wind, calm seas, slow drift able to use just 3oz. to hold bottom in 40 ft. water. Didn't have a good amount of left over keelies to begin with, so we had just a few decent sized ones. I think if we had some of the Godzilla keelies, we could have gotten a keeper. Kids had fun, hopefully this is the beginning of some decent fluking from here on. Every other fluking outing I've had so far has been pathetic- I was starting to feel depressed. A good day today-signs of some decent volumes of fluke around. Later...
