Irish Ayes fluking 8-4
« on: August 04, 2008, 07:33:30 PM »
Maurice, Ralph, Anthony, Lee and I ventured out today. We went north out of Shark River inlet and made several stops before targeting Long Branch. Had some action on the short fluke at all stops. At Long Branch it was short fluke after short fluke. Way too many to count or even think about.  Anthony did bag a nice 3 1/2 pound sea bass. We also put two other sea bass on ice.

Made a move to our spot off of the Red Church and pulled six keeper fluke in three drifts. Ralph was top gun with a 25 1/2" fluke that weighed six pounds on an uncertified digital scale. I boxed a 24 1/2" fluke shortly after Ralph's.

Wind today was out of the NW at about 15. Water temp fluctuated between 71 and 73 degrees. Bait for the day was dogfish belly with spearing or smelt.

Made a couple more stops on the way back but could only find more shorties.

Will be at bat again tomorrow.  TT^

Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.
