Myer's Hole: Sat. 8/30
« on: August 27, 2008, 08:48:05 AM »
I'm gonna hit the Myer's Hole area on Saturday the 30th.  Plan is to get there by 5:30 AM and be on the water no later than 6:00 (sunrise).  Lots of reports about weakies holding in the Barnegat Bay & one from KFS was particularly noteworthy!

Any and all are welcome!!
Come on down & get your pink on!!!

I'm in! I'm still pissed I couldn't get there last week. Can't wait to see the sun rising next to Ol Barney...

Quik update for anyone interested...
I met up with dak & his step-son Ryan (nice kid, dak!) at the ramp and we bee-lined it to Myer's Hole. Too many large boats for me so I slipped into the back waters. Found a good sized Hickory Shad and a 6" weak but nothing to brag about... Found dak & Ryan a little later and started a new drift; found a nice hole which yielded 4 keepers and a bunch of "lost-at-the-boat" and missed hits.  Great day on the water, fun catchin' & good company! Winning-est combination of the day was a 4" pink Swin Mullet on a 3/8 oz lead head. Pink Zoom were catching but not as deadly as the swim mullet...

Just had to slime the new yak:

Hey Flea, it was good to fish with ya again, it's been a while.

What a beautiful morning. While Flea went poking around back, Ryan and I drifted towards the dike and picked up 4 flounder and herds of sea robins along the way, using gulp jerk shads w/ shrimp teasers. All the flounder took the shrimp. After meeting up again with Flea, we switched to pink zooms and went to check the edge of one channel, where we found some weaks. I only got one in the boat but had numerous hits and hook-ups. Flea bagged 3 using pink swim mullets. All in all, not a super productive morning, but very nice factoring in the company and great weather.

One sour note, though, if anyone knows the skipper of the trawler "Provider", out of Barnegat Light, please tell him I will personally crush his windpipe if he would like to meet up. Tell him I was the guy in the yellow kayak with the kid that had to listen to his foul crew spout profanities at us. If you or any of your filthy crew happen to be reading this, why don't you step up like men, and I can teach you how to behave like a human being.
