Trolling 8/27
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:13:37 AM »
Left Shark River inlet 7:15am after passing about 30 boats fluking in the river,I knew it wasn't for the fluke bite nosmly. We were greeted by 4-6's with a stiff NE wind & a jagged looking horizon,NOAA was a little off again 5hrug.We kept on chugging about 10 miles off it got a little better we headed to a spot 17 miles out & tried chunking up some bluefin. After 2 hours nothing got set for the troll, put a 7 rod spread out after about 45 min got the 1st knockdown on a rainbow spreader fished way back down the center a 36" 30#er(1pm by now)then got the lines back in 20 min later another 36"er on a green Reel Seat jet head spreader, released him to fight another day.then after another hour with nothing we took a small Mahi on a cedar plug.

Way to go Joe. I will be doing more of that when the fluke season ends. I'll see you out there.  t^
