the Real Taylor Veigh fishes the Taylor Vee
« on: August 29, 2008, 01:28:08 PM »
For the first time my daughter Taylor Veigh joined Ryan, myself and my wife for our first ever family fishing trip on the Taylor Vee. Went south out of the Manasquan Inlet and starting marking fish, nice size marks so we stopped to see what was around. My daughter caught her first Sea Robin, followed by my wife and Ryan. Pulled a number of robins and 1 short and decided to move.

Ryan and I were looking for some spots for the tourney tomorrow. Ended up in 60 feet of water at 71.7 degrees. Set up the drift and started landing shorts instead of robins. On the second drift Ryan nabbed a nice 23 inch 4.8 lb. keeper.

Realized we had left all tapes at the dock so we threw back a couple that we weren't sure of. Finally pulled out an 18 inch leader on a blue fish rig and this became our measuring stick. Ended up with one other for the box at 1 leader plus 1/2 inch. Probably returned a few keepers to be on the safe side. Hopefully they will still be there tomorrow! Family had a great day on the water.  t^ t^

Great report and nice catch!  Sounds like it was a great day on the water with the entire family!  Ryan's got some friendly sibling competition...remember the women always outfish the men!  ...And if his sister is as quick of a learner as he is WATCH OUT!!

Good Luck in the tourny tomorrow.  Catch 'Em up good!!

Great report Ken thanks for sharing.  I love the smiles on the kids faces there is nothing in this world that can match that feeling.

Good Luck in the tourney tomorrow and be careful out there in the morning as they are calling for early morning fog.

I just posted the fishing conditions for down here and it might get snotty in the afternoon as well.  Then again it might fool us again.

Happy Catching

Ken,Way to Go on the family day.   Wait a few years, your Son and Daughter will be taking the keys to the boat and going fishing, while your sleeping. Priceless.
