Kingfish?
« on: August 29, 2008, 06:10:44 PM »
Caught a few (to be best described as) kingfish while out yesterday. Had no clue what they were and figured we'd keep em for crab bait until I found out what they were today via the internet.

Anyone have any info on them. Legal to catch? I heard they were good eating. Anyone have some info?

There are no regulations on them, no size or creel in NJ.  I have never eaten them, but from what I have read they are good eating as well.  Very popular in the Bay and Ocean here, especially the surf!

OK good, so I'm not in the wrong. They were a fun catch, slightly agressive but not a huge fight. Hope they taste OK in the pan. We'll see.

Highly noxious fish that should be immediately put on ice and brought to my house.  :P
