9-1 Manasquan Fluking
« on: September 01, 2008, 10:38:26 PM »
Left Manasquan Inlet at 2pm, headed south and saw a slew of boats in 60 ft water, along with the Norma K 3. 4 drifts, nada. Followed the Norma on each of her drifts. They got 0, as did I. I decided to go to the Sea Girt Reef, and the Norma K did too. Worked the reef for 2 hours, mirrored the Norma K. Got one 16n inch fluke throw back, a few bites, but it was painfully slow. I did not see the Norma bring in a damn thing either. Used 3 ways with squid, frozen fluke belly, gulp sand eels, and a combo of any/ all of these. Then did the same with a pink spro with a teaser 16 inches above this. not a thing. Wind changed at some point and came from the south. Flies started arriving. Quit fishing at 5:30 with not a single keeper fluke. Headed over to Kleins Fish House in Shark River before heading back to Brielle.

Nice try, but today was just not the day.  You tried experimenting and that is a good thing never stop.

Happy Catching
