Irish Ayes fluking 9-3
« on: September 03, 2008, 05:59:17 PM »
Had Bob G, Matt, Tony and my son, Tom aboard today.

Had word from a friend of big fluke stacked up at the Axel Carleson reef. The Irish Ayes made a brief appearance there this morning. This was a first time venture for us. Made several drifts in the area mentioned by my buddy and came up with zilch. Tried several other spots with the same results. My buddy had two keepers there for the day. Both 19 inchers.

One of the crew turned a bit green on us. We made a lot of moves to keep the boat moving as he felt better with the boat moving. Didn't help him very much or the catching. He refused my offer to take him back to the dock. What a trooper.  t^

Eventually made it to the Sea Girt reef. Only one keeper fluke brought aboard today. That was a 20 1/2 incher by Tom. We also had two decent sized sea bass. Released about a dozen and a half short fluke and several short sea bass. At one point we were bombarded by skates.

The fluke season is quickly coming to an end. It may even end sooner because of the weather coming this way. I will be out every day possible until the end.

Nice try Joe, Green is no color any one wants to see  out at sea I've been watching the weather each day and thought I'd get a couple more trips in including the weekend. Looks like the only trip will be to batten down... rgmn rgmn
