Aluminum vs. Stainless Steel
« on: September 19, 2008, 08:59:31 PM »
When outfitting a saltwater boat, can anyone think of any advantage to products made from aluminum instead of stainless steel?  I'm not talking about props.  Just fixtures and such.

IMO, stainless would always be the preferred material.  Yes?  No? Any thoughts to the contrary?  5hrug

I think it would depend on the use.

Would have to consider electrolysis also.

Probably some advantages to both. But stainless would be the best overall. There are different grades of both.  slt
