I just wanted to share this with everyone.
In a day that Customer Service basically is crap, I had a great experience with Raymarine.
Yesterday (May 9) I was cleaning some connections to my DS500X fishfinder and I broke a collar nut connecting the transducer cable to the head unit. I know it can be replaced so I called to order a new one. I explained the problem and was prepared to pay for a replacement. The technician, instead, said he would send one to me for FREE. Hurray ...
So, I went back to work on the boat all happy and expected to get the part in a week or so.
Well, this morning at 10:00AM, a DHL truck pulls up to my house with an overnight package with the part. AWESOME!
I have had similar experiences with them in the past.
This may not reflect every case but I am a happy Raymarine guy right now. I have had recent problems with Lowrance and Northstar with late deliveries of new products so I went and cancelled them at good ole Consumer's Marine.
The bottom line for me is that good Customer Service is better than a new feature on a new unit ...
