Finally, the Fall ice is broken...

Hi All,
Well the ice was broken this morning and the clams were the ticket again today.  Started about an hour before High tide and all it took was about half an hour to do it.  Picked up a nice chunky 27 1/4" striper off Ortley beach.

He was finicky though.  I started with a 12" fishfinder rig. ans slowly increased the length until it hit on a 24" leader and that was the ticket.

After that I got 2 sea robins and a Fluke.  Ran out of clams and went to the good ol boys at Grumpys.  Home by noon, not a bad couple of hours.

I will try to be out tomorrow as well.

Go for it RocksandReds,

The only thing I might have over a number of you out there is that I fish quite a bit.  For instance I have been our 5 times this week and finally dialed them in on Wed and Thurs.  This can change in a heart beat though as the weather plays a very important part in the process there are so many other factors as well.

The best hint I can give anyone is be diverse and experiment, if the bite is off. 

Good Luck, as it looks like we should have a good season off the beaches in NJ if all the ducks stay in a row,  QUACK, QUACK.

Well here she is the first one of the year on my end, I think the stripes turned into a spot thud. But she was a nice one 46"Lx 26"G.
