Headed out on a friends boat inshore of the canyon and scored about 15 bluefin up to 86 lbs. By far, the best tuna trip of the year.2 caught on the jig and the rest on the chunk. Insane day!!! Only managed one good pic because of the crazy action. Sorry, don't have exact numbers. Wasn't on my boat. Judging by the parking lot, shouldn't be much of a secret. Saw a few "famous" charter boats pull up late in the afternoon and mug our slick. But with the rates their clients pay, cant say I blame em. Also, some jackass was trolling around all day in everybodies slick. I included a pic of his boat. rgmn

Ya probably fished the Lobster Claw, no secret where everyone has been finding the bluefin for weeks.

What jigs did you guys hook up on?  Any specifics on tackle you used?  Braid, mono, did you use a fluro leader?  Thanks.

hey duff, not the claw. ran out of manasquan east, not south. we used his huge gear, all 50 reels and heavy sticks. 130lb flouro leaders crimped to mono. This guy doesnt fool around, he was in search of giants. He goes tuna fishing once a week, always has good intel, and is very sharp. I learned a lot. All our fish hit sardines and were flatlined out with no weight. The jigs were the glow in the dark type of shimano butterfly but made by williamson. Good luck

Nice job. I just scored two of the Williamson jigs a few days ago. Can't wait to use them.
