Not much to say about the tournament but boring. I guess the Asbury Park Press felt the same way as there was not a word about it in today's paper unless I missed it after going through it twice.
As a Judge this year I found it very interesting even though the catch was way off to say the least the people were still very optimistic about the event. It was a good ol time had by all.
I was roaming my area which was from A8 to A9 and I have to say there were some great people out there. This for the most part is a family event giving quality them to compete for some great prizes and have a fantastic day out on the beach to boot.
I do not have a list of all the winners but I can say I measured the winner of the Summer Flounder (Fluke) and signed the tag that eventually won the the tournament. It measured an even 21". It was one nice fish. Other fish I saw caught that day ranged from a short blue a couple of sea robins a stargazer and of course the Fluke. There was some good black fish action down by the inlet.
I am surprised that there were not more fish caught with that much fooed just sitting there. BTW the Fluke was caught on a mullet rig with a nice juicy mullet dangling off the end.
I handed out many cards (hint I need more please) and met some good people Congratulations Rich sorry I forgot your last name and also congrats to your daughter if it wasn't for her pole your name would not appear on the trophy this year, HAHAHA.
Plus Congrats to all those that won in their categories and to all the raffle winners.
Great day, good times, even better people.
Thanks for a great day.
Happy Catching
Paul
