This past Sat I was invited on a 11 man Charter on Capt Joe Occhipinti's Little Hawk out of the Atlantic Highlands.At 6 am we pushed off & Capt Joe Sr. took us for a short ride.We took some drifts over some structure drifting eels & sandworms but nothing was going on.Capt Joe moved us over to the rip and we took several drifts and once again nothing was going on.Now Capt Joe Sr & Jr say's guys we are going Weakfishing.That's right weakfishing.We get to the spot and only a few boats were drifting the area.As soon as the lines hit the bottom the Weakies were chewing.Capt Jr worked a small area & every drift we had weakfish up to 6 lbs.At the end of the trip we had 45 keeper weakfish.All weakfish were caught on whole sandworms.
In all the yrs fishing I never sailed on the Little Hawk.
Capt Joe Sr & Capt Joe Jr are 2 great guys.
The 52 ft Sportfisherman is a boat & a half.
The boat is so clean you can eat off of the deck.
A great time was had plus I fished with some new friends.
