Great Kills Harbor 10/16 Big Catch
« on: October 16, 2008, 11:43:35 PM »
Well with the ominous clouds overhead and not much fuel in the tank... We decided to troll n drift in and around the back of Great Kills Harbor...

My friend brought his trusty friend Rocky for the lil adventure...

I figured it would be a good time to teach Rocky how to fish...

So we started with the basics... Like Casting...

And setting the drag for the troll...

Most importantly... Rocky was attentive to the poles ...

With his help I caught a Shimano Baitrunner 6500 on an Ugly Stik boat pole...  WuuuhUUU

So I get home and start taking it apart... this rod n reel are recoverable for sure... This has been my best catch in a while... \\

I cleaned up the parts and have them soaking in a coffee can with WD40 n Saturday I'm gonna give it another good cleaning inside and out... and take it down to Grumpys to be put back together...

I figure I'll make a day of it and come down to IBSP and do some surf fishen...

Fishey Fishey in the bay... Come and bite my Hook TODAY !!!

It might be a good idea to: Take the Dog with you all the Time!!!!
Good catch, soak the reel and order any replacement parts cause the price was right.
