The park is really a great place to fish from. Having a beach buggie and a permit to take it on the beach is just icing on the cake. But not necessary as they have numerous places to fish from from the northern end all the way to the end of the road.
Just as soon as you enter the park to your left is a parking area and a dirt road called Too Bit Road. It will allow you access to the most northern part of the park. As this is a walk in section there are no vehicles allowed to enter at this point. There are some great spots up there.
As you go further south there is Gillikins access road. This area and south has always produced some great fishing but getting to it is a little challenging on foot and parking there is almost non existent. As you keep going south you will come to the bathing beaches, since this is off season I think the first one is the only one open th vehicle parking that will allow you to access that beach area.
From the bathing beaches south you will notice small parking areas along the road. Each of these lots will have paths to the beach area just look for the sign stating which area it is and the path should be right next to the sign.
The easiest access point to the beach would be A7 as there is a parking lot plus a fisherman's walk, (a wooden boardwalk to the beach) that will bring you to the beach and BTW A7 has a nice hole just to its south by about 1 to 200 feet or so. If you will having the ladies with you in parking lot A6 you will notice at its north end a wooden building this houses the men and ladies restrooms as there is another larger one at A21 as well.
Continuing south from A7 there are some good areas to try and A10 being one of them. This area has a nice hole and the beach at low tide will form a slight crescent shape allowing for good bait holding area for larger fish to linger in to feed.
I would try A13, A17 and A23 as they all are good holding areas as well.
On another trip there are some areas on the bay that are good producers as well but for now I would stick with the beach side as that is where you should have the most fun. If you would like to have a fire on the beach it is allowed in the areas between the bathing beaches south to just before the North Jetty. and 50' East of the dunes. You could bring in your own or just rely on the stuff that is lying around from others.
If you need bait my go to shop would be Grumpys but there are plenty others as soon as you get off the bridges and make the turn south. They will all have fresh bait of almost any kind you can think of this time of year.
