Late Report Striper / Bottom
« on: October 30, 2008, 09:17:44 PM »
Our Fall season has not yet officailly started but we did have out the Dan Montalvo Charter out for a little pre-season action...
With ok reports all week, we shot south out of the inlet and ran down to Mant / Bayhead boarder where we did find a couple of birds hanging around... Not to much life in the air or in the water... We managed to put 1 keeper in the boat at 29 inches and had another chase a diamond right up to the boat. The crew decided to drop to the bottom. We snagged up on a nice piece on the NW corner of the Axel and it was game on... LOTS and LOTS of life... One fish after another. Justnot the right size. We picked our way to a decent catch.
Late in the day and after the sun went down, I "kid-napped" the guys for an extra 2 hours and fished back in the river where some schoolies kept the guys occupied. Fished a couple of non regular spots.
