Irish Ayes blues n bass
« on: November 01, 2008, 05:39:34 PM »
Left the dock with Matt and Andy aboard. Intel from DeiselHP was that he would be at Shrewsbury Rock today. I gave him a call to see if he was doing anything there. Was told that he was still heading out.

I made a decision to head south out of Shark River knowing that DeiselHP would be calling if he got into fish. That was the right decision.

Motored south and saw a few boats about two-three miles off of Manasquan Inlet. Headed in their direction and picked up some decent marks before we got to the boats. Stopped and sent some metal down.

It wasn't long before we started hooking up with some alligator blues. Mixed in with the blues were a few bass. Matt brought the first bass to the boat. Measured twenty seven inches. Just short.

We continued to catch blues and I brought in the next bass. This one was thirty inches. On ice it went. Gave DeiselHP a call and told him of our catch and that we would be staying where we were.

Made a few wiggles in the same area and came upon some blues again. Another bass for me, this one just shy of twenty seven. Then Matt hooked up with a nice bass. Into the boat and onto the scale. Twenty four pounds, thirty-six inches. Matt's personal best.

Andy had a difficult time today with the bass. He did get his share of blues but no line siders for Andy. He was hot with the doggies though. Bringing in three, one right after another.  :P

Finished the day trolling back to the inlet and a few more blues hooked up.

Skol, I was using an Ava 47 without a tail. Matt and Andy were hooking up with the same with green tails.

I think pretty much anything will work this time of year.  t^

Great report Joe tanks for making my day being even more envious of you boat guys.  All I can think about is being able to still fish once you guys pull your boats.
