Thanksgiving Bass
« on: November 27, 2008, 09:38:29 AM »
Showed up at Bay Head around 6 this morning and my eyes lit up as soon as I made it over the stairs cfzd Birds working like crazy, fish boiling in the wash. Caught a total of 9 bass, none were keepers. Still had a great time. Everyone was catching. The action continued until the sun broke over the stretch of clouds making the horizon. Still left them biting at 8:30

Happy Thanksgiving chrz

I plan to be out there Friday morning Can't wait.

Thank You for the information.

I think I will be in IBSP and see what happens.  What did you use for bait today, plugs, metal or bait or bunker chunks?

Chartreuse A27 with a 4/0 Chartreuse teaser. Seems the brighter colors work better in bright conditions. One guy next to me was using a white tailed A27 and caught at least twice as many as I did. The guy on the other side using a black tailed AVA or Kastmaster (couldn't tell)  didn't pull in a thing.  5hrug  50/50 catch ratio between teaser and jig. One sundial too ;D

Go out there and catch 'em while they're hot.  chrz

Chartreuse and white are my favorite colors on bright days.  I usually turn to green and yellow on cloudy days.

As far as the teasers I am all over the park at to what size hooks I will use.  I have them from 1/0 to 6/0 circles.  The red one is tied on a 2/0 and it seems to look pretty good and sits nicely on the hooks shank.

Color values and light are everything in the surf it can make or break a lure.  I have seen plenty a great looking lure but the colors are way off and so unnatural I pass them by.

A lot of B&T's have the old bargain bin I think I am going to pick up some lures and repaint them.  I guess I will have to break out the old air brush again.
