Last Pounder 2 Striper report 2008
« on: November 30, 2008, 07:25:00 PM »
We broke the inlet around 11:45 Friday morning.  After running north and jigging around a bit (it was VERY dead) we opted to troll a chartreuse-black back 9'ers unbrella rig and a stretch thrity around the pt pleasant/bayhead border area.  After about 45 minutes of NOTHING the umbrella rig rod started bouncing then went into a full-out bend.  i picked it up aand started fightinh what felt like a nice fish. Boated the fish in about 10 mins.  It was a nice bass, which measured 35" and weighed 16.5lbs on the hand scale at Bogan's B&T in Brielle. Shoulda entered the Leggett's tourney!  Nice fish though, it had enough meat for dinner for 6-8people.  About 30mins later we also had a 32" bluefish on the same rig.

nice day on the water, but it was friggin cold out there! We pulled the boat on saturday. Good thing, becasue it was rainy, windy, and COLD on Sun.

Good luck/ Happy holidays

Another dependent comes alive for the winter.

Nice catch, now if only we could get them that size off the beach.

Happy Catching
