The addition of a power winch to your trailer will be one of the best item you add to your trailering experience, guaranteed! Here is what I did, and where I ordered  the parts.

 I got a Power Winch RC 30 (Radio Control- 30' boat length) with a max boat weight of 11,500 lbs. It has a light built into the winch, which comes in handy, and the radio control is not only cool, but keeps your hands safely out from harms way. I purchased the bigger model because if I do get the larger boat I have eyed up, I can put the hand winch back on the trailer before selling/trading the boat, and put the Power Winch on the new trailer. I got the BEST DEAL ANYWHERE from Hodges Marine http://www.hodgesmarine.com/Winches-Windlass-s/65.htm  Be sure to add it to the cart to get the best/hidden price ($355.07 for the RC 30)I ordered it about 10am on a Monday, and it came to my house on Tuesday. How'd they do that?

Then, I decided to wire the winch into the Silverado power to eliminate having a battery on the trailer, which also eliminates having to haul out a battery charger to charge up the winch battery, and also save on the cost (batteries are not cheap). I ordered the quick disconnects from Allied Electronics http://www.alliedelec.com/

I ran the winch wires through the trailer frame and out with the wiring for the trailer lights.

On the truck, I connected to the battery and ran the wires down the frame along the existing wiring harness and secured with wire ties.

I put quick disconnects (plugs) on both the trailer side and truck side of the connection. I attached the truck side connector to the metal attachment bracket that holds the trailer light socket, and added a water proof cover(red cover in the photos).

This is a neat, charger free, simple to connect installation that is well worth the expense and time, and I guarantee you will never live with out an electric winch again.   <'((((><

I have been using powerwinch products for over 30 years.  Once the gear with the antireverse would no longer hold but the dealer had one in stock and I was back in action in about 10 minutes.  Tried a superwinch once but it did not have the power of the superwinch.  Like the previous post I ran the feed wire from the truck battery along the frame and have a plug mounted in the side of the pickup box rail.  I can disconnect the wire when I am not using the boat.  I used the powerwinch male and female plugs which can be purchased seperately.  24" gradywhite which was never a joy to hand crank now gets loaded with me sitting on the dock.
