Got the call today from Coty. The had it for 10 days. I will pick it up tomorrow and then I will go over the bill for everyone on what everything costs, labor, parts, etc. I will have her in the driveway tomorrow, power wash the junk off the bottom, then my next debate is wether or not to take her to Little Egg harbor and get some crabs for next weekend, or dump her back in AH and get those dam fluke an stripers.... decisions, decisions, decisions... ???
-
Hi Nick,
Still waiting to see that winner blue claw ... the crabbing has been good here but the full moon probably will hurt for a few days.

glad to see your back in action. forget the crabs, you can get those anytime in trenton,, go for the doormats and striped hogs.
-
Remember there is no price on Fun TT^ TT^
-
nice crabs in the Navesink. plus you can be in nice while soaking the pots all day?
-
Well, since its on the trailer, I can bring it anywhere, so thought it would be a good time to get those crabs. Once I put it back in AH, it stays there until I pull her out to fill the gas tank again... Maybe I will dump her in Seaside and try for crabs there. I love fishing, BUT CRABS ARE THE BEST EATING..

I never really had much luck crabbing up there.
-
I think I'll crab on sunday ..give you the report..Its been great this year fromthe reports my friend send me..Plus they are all over the marina
-
I get huge crabs on the pilings at the marina, but can't get them in the traps.. they are tooooo well fed at the marina with everyone cleaning there catch
-
Luna
Read in the paper where the fish cleaning in the harbor is a hot topic.............quite the council meeting the other night....everything from fish cleaning stations and bagging you racks to the fisherman grinding them up...........
Come down to Highlands in the low rent district, we don;t have those problems......the 5-6 knott current takes them far far away TT^ TT^
-
you can only imagine how many carcuses are in that marina.
-
the crabbing in LE is getting better and better. last 3x capt mike has checked our pots the new crab moving in are getting bigger and bigger TT^
-
Hi All,
In my marina, they talk away the cleaning stations 4 years ago. They blamed it on the insurance company for the grinder in the table (will hurt kids); then they said the state wanted people to dispose of them in the garbage and it was to tempting to clean them right there next to the water (someone would throw the rack in).
So I fillet them on my boat and then throw them in ... of course, after feeding the gulls to further tick someone else off.
Go fight for your cleaning station!
Hoorah,
Ed

I usually but my traps in at the edge of the bay and the round-a-bout creek. I always did really good there. They should be moving in good very soon. If you only get 6 keepers per pot,,, then just put out 10 pots....
-
Hey, the fish are coming out of the water, why not throw the carcuses back in the water.. feed the bird, bait fish, crabs... it keeps the population well fed
-
As they said in the movie "the circle of life" "hakoona Mattata" TT^

OK, here is the breakdown.
Bilge pump 1600 gph 65.00
float switch 34.40
washdown pump 204.39
fuel filter 10.00
shop supplies 21.73
LABOR @ $110.00 per hour.. total labor $434.50
Total bill... $813.00
-
That breakdown doesn't sound too too bad Luna. The marina that repowered my boat was getting $150.00 per hour. Put 'marine' in the equation and the price of everything skyrockets.

very true

the washdown is alone worth the price :)
-
I disagree with you guys.. add in the fact they took 10 days plus the labor cost.. Damn its a big bill you could have save some money doing it yourself..
just my opinion
-
the ten days would have had me very upset :(

the 10 days killed me, but that isn't unusual.. The doing it yourself part would be easy as well if the access was better. I am charging the batteries as we speak, and no matter how much is cost, IM BACK...

not if they were just changing the pump that was already there.

for them to even get to the pump, they had to remove the batteries, wires, oil tank for the boat, oil tank for the trim tabs and the fuel separater. YES, all this is labor just to get at some simple pumps.

Glad to hear you got her back. Can't wait to
get out again. Fishing or crabbing does not matter it's what you like to do best boating!

I will let you know what the plan is. I have to be in Little Egg next weekend to work on the house. Since the boat is in the driveway, I will probably bring it down for the weekend. If your not doing anything Saturday night, or Sunday, come down for a nice crab dinner... guaranteed...
-
TUFF break again... I decided to charge the batteries last night... Today, both are dead... I just jumped started them and half crank, ZOOOOOM... SO, I am off to Boaters world to buy 2 new batteries.... OH well, another comple hundred bucks... small price to pay to be a boater
-
Hi Nick,
I got mine all fixed today to. MY list of changes from the submersion looks a lot like yours except for the washdown pump. We tested the batteries with a hydrometer and some cells were dead. Salt water is nasty. The new batteries with not have that issue as they are sealed and are rated for submersions.
I did get to change a few things that have been on "the list" for a while.
Good luck to you and better boating ahead,
Ed

7:20, just finished my batteries, thing are finally looking good. Now i am going to the GPS forum and program some new spots while I have the boat home..
-
It's good that you are finally set to get back to fishing/boating.
You would think that the manufactures would do a better job at getting access to items that they know will need to be changed out on a somewhat frequent basis. It's usually every 3 years or so with a washdown pump and as for batteries. I have two. I replace one each year. This way, I always have a new battery for the season and the other battery is only a year old. Sounds like a waste of money but it's cheap insurance and peace of mind.
Both items are very easy for me to access. I hate to think about if and when I have to replace a fuel tank though. The deck would have to be cut and replaced to gain access.

Since the boat is a 2004, I am at that 3 year mark, so I guess it would have had to been done anyway
