Free Seminar Offer
« on: September 10, 2010, 07:50:46 AM »
Early in the fishing season Captain Mike and I stopped at Tournament Tackle and spoke to Chuck Richardson. Chuck was kind enough to show us around his shop and even showed us how to make a wind-on leader. At the time we talked about seminars/demonstrations at his shop. Due to the fishing season start up we put this on hold until the end of the season.

Yesterday I got an email from Chuck requesting to know if we are still interested in a seminar/demonstation. He also told me that he had posted up a similar offer on another site and I was welcome to cut and paste that offer here for our members, so here it is.

What kinds of seminars would you like to see taught? What topics interest you? Would you want a one-day teaching session, or a series spread out on the weekends over a month or so? Or... do you prefer Open Houses and more informal kinds of events? Would you want to bring your fishing or sportsman's club for a private demonstration here? Please tell us!

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE AT TOURNAMENT CABLE? This is your opportunity to see it come to pass. Is there something we do you want to learn about? Let us know. Is there an event you wish we'd host? Let us know. Do you just want to come for a visit and a tour? LET US KNOW! And of course it goes without saying, these events are free. We don't charge for in-house seminars etc, because nobody ever charged us to learn, and that's not what fishing is about. Our facilities are always open, and any and every event we ever host are FREE. So don't even let that be a consideration.

So please, don't be bashful. If it's something we're not able to do at this time, we'll be up-front and let you know. But if it's something you'd like to see, now is the time to speak up. We hope to have the calendar set by the end of the month, so now is the time to get your input in. We honestly look forward to hearing what you have to say

Post here if you are interested in this. We also need to come up with some dates and topics for a seminar/demonstration. These are informal and we can have hand-on classes. And as was already mentioned THIS IS FREE!

Skip, this will mostly do with rigging and things of that nature. That would also come into play with inshore stuff.  t^

Three so far. We can use a dozen or so more. What better way to spend a fall or winter day.

It can be. We pick a date (if not taken by another group) and subject matter. It need not be a subject matter at all and an ad lib deal. Get there with some ideas of what you want to see/learn and Chuck will answer/demonstrate as needed. Nothing formal at all.  t^

Sticky'd.

I will give this a week to see if anybody else want in. Then we can concentrate on a date and subject matter for a demonstration/seminar from Chuck.  t^

This seminar will cover rigging needs for all species of fish. I'm sure there are a lot of striper guys on this board; learn how to make your own top shots for your rigs and jigs. Everyone will take something away from this seminar. Chuck is a great guy with lots of knowledge and patience. It would be nice to have more board member participation on some of these events.
