I think a lot of people have a case of the green monster named ENVY rising to the top.  I have never heard anything attributed to what this lady said.  All I have heard are a bunch of opinions and 'some one said that'.  People are forming opinions on a picture of dubious quality.  They are interpreting this picture to what pleases them.

These, to me, are not thing I want to form an opinion on.  I will just sit back and let the powers to be do their research and make their determination.  They are up close to this event and have facts, not rumors.

That's my two cents.  Thanks for listening.

Joe

Research?  That went out the door when she caught this 'animal' ravaging the monster fluke in her backyard...luckily this time she had her camera... :P

I did not see anywhere where SHE said an animal got to the fluke.  This is exactly what I am talking about.  Where did this information come from?  Where did ANY of the information come from?  Someone said an animal got to the fish.  I don't know that it was this lady who said that.

If anyone has REAL information, I would like to see that.  Not, someone said...

Until then...

BTW, I am in no way defending her.  I am defending the premise that someone reportedly made a nice catch and very few are willing to accept that.

God forbid if anyone who is bashing this lady caught something like that and got bashed because of mis-information...

Check out this article...it mentions what has subsequently happened to the fish towards the end or the article...

HookAFattie,
I did see that article.   That is another one of the things I am talking about.  She ceased giving interviews on Sunday morning.  Sunday night word got out the fish was ravaged by an animal.  WHO PUT THAT WORD OUT?  It certainly wasn't her, not if she stopped giving interviews prior to that.

BTW, welcome to the site.   t^

Thanks for the welcome.   ;D

As far as the 'fish story', you can believe what you want to believe ... I wanted to believe ... and did for the first couple of days... but from all that I have heard (and haven't heard) and after giving it alot of thought...I am skeptical whether or not it's legit.  Nice size fish though, however it was caught!   :P

I think the hand is squeezing the tail to get the fin rays to extend for full measurement.
Wouldn't it make more sense and more accurate to make sure the head was lined up properly since it's hanging off?  >:D

I know people that were there when it was weighed in asked to see the fish closely and she refused to show them the underside or a second look.  In itself means nothing, but with all the other shadey stuff going on, makes it a little tough to swallow.

This is a post from another site.  Barnegat Fishing Hole.  In particular check page 2, the post from 'the Broken Road'.  It sounds to me like he is affiliated with the Fisherman mag.  Perhaps Tuesday will be the day to look for more info.

Last time I will post about this topic.  If she is as big of fisherman as everyone says,  she is online and reading all the forums about herself.  It is time for a statement.  If it was me and all the endorcments were on the line, I would be on the phone with the fisherman, saltwater sportman, or espn.  If I had to I would have them give polygraph and shut everyone up.  Lets get this overwith and prove everyone wrong.   I really would like to see nj have the world record fluke.  I hope she doesn't catch a 32 pound bluefish next week

I totally agree with you. I would also like to see the record broken, but by a fisherman not a dragger...

Just figured I would throw in a funny picture to break up some of the detective work done on this post.  Fluke fishing, so easy a caveman can do it.  :P

Interesting.  Alright, I am backing off....I hope she did catch it..and if she did, I hope there is a way she can prove it once and for all so she does not always have to deal with and hear negativity from the 'skeptics'.
