Saw this report from the D.M. Looks like good fishing.....but seems they got out there a little late for being the "1st Boat to the grounds"
Maybe their charter times are a lot different?

Took the ride out on the Doris Mae on Sat for a canyon trip. Arrived at the canyon at about 11pm. The first fish were boated within the first hour and a half of fishing, and a fairly steady pick continued throughout the night with a few flurries of multiple hookups. I boated my first yellowfin (55-60lbs) at around 3am. We had another flurry right around first light, and a few albacore came over the rail on jigs after sunrise. I dropped down to 50lb leader and boated a 70lb yellowfin (last of the trip) at around 8:30am. The boat had about 30-35 yellowfin, 2 albacore, one dolphin, and a 70-80lb swordfish. All in all a good trip with a fantastic crew.

I spoke with them yesterday.
I did ask about the beer and she said no way! Even if it's a charter No Drinking till the boat is headed in!
I don't have a problem with that, but I'm sure some do.

Also they will do a 30 hr trip in Sept and a 22 hr in Oct.

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

Thats kinda sad.....i can understand no alcohol on a open tuna trip where u have 20-25 guys that dont know each other....alcohol can be a bad thing
But for a charter group? ....
Everyone is sleeping on the ride home....

Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Question?

I have been talking to Capt. Bob of the Gambler.

Late Sept and Oct weekends he only runs 48 hr trips.

Are we game for that?

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.
