Nearly a year in the making from the time the trip was booked...looking forward to a great experience in Gloucester(Glowsta). Will be great to fish with some other site members here and hopefully get the shot at a big boy...

Not sure if you guys are bringing any Bluefin home....

I pulled this off the FVTuna.com site..

*Federal law requires that highly migratory species, charter/headboat vessels must retain bluefin tuna which are 73 inches or greater in length.    :headscra:   Must retain ??

These tuna(s) will automatically become property of the boat and you are entitled to 1/4 the sale (after fuel) to a maximum of the charter fee paid.

Guess we need to catch 72.999" fish.

I think it's up to us to keep a smaller fish or release it and hope for a giant.

Yes 73 and over the boat gets the fish and we get cash back.

Any way it goes is fine by me. Just hope we don't sit all day watching a rod and waiting for it to go.

Hopefully we will have someones numbers.  pcrn

Kenny, the letter I received from Dave clearly outlines it. We have to make a choice, keep a short for the table and release biggies, or shoot for the biggies and boat sells and we get up to 1/4 after fuel up to our full fare back....I'm in it for the experience either way. Last year on this boat as he is having new one built and following on FaceBook as it progresses.....This is what we're after caught on Hard Merchandise yesterday.....

No doubt you guys are going for the experience...I'd be too...

The chance to reel and or just see a fish that big is worth it    Experience of a life time to say the least...

I'd be going for a chance at a big boy  t^

You guys are going to have a blast...If I wasn't so freaking busy with work and my Son's baseball I would have stowed away with Rod  ;D

A 73" fish is plenty big enough for us to all take meat from. I am all for keeping a nice under as long as we can still fish for the big ones.

I think.... They just have to be released. We will certainly ask.

Damn regulations... So, we could possibly keep 3?

Charter/Headboat-permitted vessels: 2 school BFT (27 to <47") + 1 large school/small medium BFT (47-<73").  :headscra:

But we're fishing recreationally on a commercial boat. I think they play both sides of the fence..... If we want meat it falls under recreational on a charter/headboat rules. If we want our trip paid for, they keep the big ones under the commercial rules. We are no longer recreational because our money has been refunded.
