There is no wrong place to fish along that stretch of beach. There are plenty of groins that you can fish along. By the time you get down there thge blues along with croakers should be in full swing during the day and if it is stripers you be after remember they like low light and darkness. Use dark color top water plugs and hold on.
The same for the bridge pier. Night time seems the best time in hotter weather for there. Cast out to the bridge pilings and short jerks of a top water lure will probably bring you something.
If you get down towards Ortley Beach try along the third avenue parking lot as there is a pretty good hole just off the stairs, uinless we have a good storm and things change.
You have to do some foot work once you get to the beaches. Do an early morning or evening walk at low tide to see where the cuts and rips are and remember them even if you have to wright them down. Pick up some bait if that is what you are into either bunker or clams and have fun. Clams for stripers and bunker for the blues.
There are a lot of different lures to choose from my suggestion is to get yourself to any of the B&T's and start to ask questions and recommendations on what to use. There are so many comobs that I could write a book on this alone.
That is the fun of this sport, trying new things. Don't be afraid of new ideas that is what it is all about. But if I could only give you one bit of advise that would be to get one type of bait, plug, lure, jig and work with it till you master it and then move onto a different lure and pretty soon you will be teaching us some new things.
