fred's bait and tackle has packages of spearing for $4.50 and I found them very good. We killed the fluke the other day with them.
go for the peruvian monster spearing they cost more but you know...big bait for big fishizzes
A n old Sharpie once told me to make sure the spearing yopu use are local caught and not foreign as they are not the same and MUCH beter results with locally caught vs foreign (peruvian) spearing.Sounds logical, especially if the color of the spearing a bit different.Whataver the ones Crabby is selling, they work well for me and excellent quality (even when slightly thawed).
Nothing like fresh spearing caught in a seine and used that day.....nice and firm, bright silverside, etc. best bait is always fresh, not frozen.
