Nice try   some have it as a slam-arama there some say the bite is off there, sometimes first hand fishing gives you the best idea, anyone one truly is having trouble getting bass in that area PM me and we ll find u some

Today was just not my day.  I had my 15.5 inch tog last Friday and couple shorts.

If we wanted a guaranteed fish for the table, we would all just go to the fish market.  I fish to relax, enjoy the scenery, and only keep what I will eat.  Some days you catch nothing - some days you catch your limit. I can say that I have always caught fish in the canal - not always keepers, sometimes oyster crackers, but something to get the blood pumping as you wait to see what took your bait. As fishermen, we know to take things with a grain of salt...life has enough negativity and stress to throw at us.
(Stepping down off soapbox now). grtn
Hope you all have a great day! chrz
Thanks Dad for taking me fishing as a kid!

how has the fishing been there lately.  i know the surf is gonna be a blow out.  was wondering thoughts on the canal with the storm and the bite.  got the day off tomorrow and need to do something since the blow on the beach is making that not worth the time.

If I were you I'd stay home tomorrow. This is a very serious storm.More than wind/rain. Flooding on the high tide is expected.

Got to the canal about an hour before high tide with my son. Had salted clams and green crabs.  Fished for about two hours (SLACK LASTED LIKE 10 MINS?!)  My brother in law and niece showed up - my niece caught a short tog about 5 minutes after getting there.  Only saw one other fish caught - another short tog.  We threw metal and lures for stripers too.  Boats were drifting for stripers.  More snags than usual on the bottom too.  Got the ole skunk today. 5hrug
Swung by the ocean on the way home and it was much calmer than yesterday. Hope next weekend things have settles and hope the stripers are still hungry!
Thanks Dad for taking me fishing as a kid!
