Joe, If you want a plug to use, black bomber at night, schoolbus bomber during the day. As Paul said with the retrieve, S-L-O-W. If you think the lure is barely moving, slow down even more.
Not sure but did anyone say "teaser rig" There are lots of choices for teasers but when small bait is present the teaser ahead of any lure ,be it metal or plug catches most fish for me. I like them all but color can be most important. Soft plastics,bucktail,feathers,saltwater flies. Yellow is one of favorites but green,black and all white are always in my bag.Sand eel soft plastics can be deadly coupled with any metal lure especially thin profile lures. As soon as the ocean is fishable again get out there. There are bass in the big pond
