Took the weekend off from fishing but back at the "local" fluke on the kayak early this morning.Nice calm conditions and the outgoing tide was good for 3 nice keepers all over 19" to 22". Those 6" gulp grubs in nuclear chicken and all white got the bigger fish. Off the water before 11AM, it's just too hot.  thud

Got back on the water in the kayak this morning. The fluke are still here ! Bucktailing with gulp 6" grubs and also 4" shrimp was good for a few keepers along with lots of shorts.Done by 11AM. No big ones just big enough  ;D

Been fishin for as long as i can remember and this and hunting are my passions....I just registered tonight, cant afford a boat (22 yr old) so i have been trying to start up kayak fishing....I'm 100% hooked  t^ ....in the process of setting it up (a little difficult as it is a sit in fishing yak  5hrug )...setting up anchor line, Eagle Cuda 350, and some other little mods, just sayin thanks for all the tips here, I have still not read through this whole thread but already have learned a lot....seems like the most work is gonna be in finding some spots as i havent done much boat fishin, except an occassional friend taking me out...been out a few times in the inlet for flounder and a few shorts and night fishing for bass around marina, no luck rgmn ....hopefully will run into some guys who wouldnt mind me tagging along, I love learning the trade and listening to the older guys whith the experience and stories....THANKS AGAIN   chrz
Ooohhhh im hooked.....

Cool  ;D Good luck with the new kayak. Good idea to add a fish finder.  I don't have one yet but plan to add one soon. Generally don't fish south of Barnegat inlet much but I am always willing to help out if you're coming up this way.  ;D

thanks noworries  t^, maybe i'll take a trip up sometime....so i tried night fishing again last night, caught incoming tide until 3 AM... hung around seaview marina (in great egg harbor inlet) with spot and sheddar....3 friends tug along, wind and tide were same direction which made paddling hard and drifting fast...depth finder was niceeeee yet we causght no fish over the 3 hours  rgmn.....disappointed yet not surprsed, as the water temp was reading 75  :-\...
Ooohhhh im hooked.....

Good try  ;D Live spots make awesome baits ! Don't think many guys are bass fishing right now and the weakies haven't showed up here. TRy during the day as the bigger fluke love spots. Somebody caught a 12.5# fluke this week from the inlet wall at Manasquan inlet and a few better fish are being taken inside. Was out today and had a keeper fluke among the 15 or so shorts before that wind came up this afternoon.

What up guys....Its been a long hot summer and we all know how fluke fishing was this year.... This fall so far has been difficult to read because the water is still so warm.... I would have thought by this time the mullet would have been long gone and yet they are still plenty of schools swimming around the bay..... The odd thing is I have not seen any peanut bunker like in past years and the large spearing are not around..... This could be because of the warm water or the bay was just to hot this summer..... All of my kayak hot spots are not showing any signs of life, like in past seasons.

well if anything does change for me or if someone is doing fish in the back bay let us know... Until then I hope everyone is healthy and doing well....

Had the chance to get out late Saturday night...Hit a spot I knew had fish feeding on the drop tide... Took 5 bass in 2 hours of fishing nothing over 28 inches but had a blast.

Will be out Kayak fishing from now till January so as I hit the water....I will be sure to keep up with my reports.

Thank's Everyone...... Last night was back out on the water....Hit the same areas as Saturday  and the fish where still in the same place I left them..... Just this trip out they where picky as to what they had been feeding on.

I tried everything I had with me with no luck....So I left the bass alone and called it a night.Better luck next time out.
