I am going to try and make it Dave but that time of night will be rough while dealing with the family's dinner.  As I am the Mr. Mom for this bunch and cooking is one of the daily chores.

I will try...

Found a couple new areas that some of you yak guys should try out for fluke before the season is over.....

Some of these small back bay creeks are now holding the large schools of bait....and as the tide starts to fall the fluke are holding tight to the mouth of these small creeks that line the west side of the bay.....

The small white gulp seems to be working the best. t^

Most areas are not fishable by boat because the water is to shallow..... The yak is the best way to get into these areas.

This entire spring and summer has been very odd for fishing..... This is also the month we find some nice size weakfish holding around the bridges at night..... I just hope they show up soon....

WOW..... This summer has been tuff to do any kind of fishing....I'm not sure if its the rain this spring that changed the water or the cool temperatures that kept the bait fish from hold in the back bay.

This is just a tough year all around....myself and a couple others that fish the back bays are all having problems finding good fishing.

The fluke fishing is the only fish right now in town to go for..... I would stay with the white gulp on a high low rig....use pink if the water is off color.

The weakfish should start showing up at the bridges in the next week or so.... this will be all late night fishing when the boat traffic is minimal...... you can use the same set up as with fluke..... stay close to the bridge.

Don't forget about live bait...SNAPPERS are one of the best natural baits for both fluke and weakfish....Drop one of these down to the bottom on the high-low.....

When the fishing gets hard....you have to think outside the box sometime and pull the old tricks out....We all get caught up in the whats working now and forget about the years that have past....when all we had was cut bait and live bait which you caught before going fishing.....

This is a year to think outside the box..... start using what worked years ago and see if you cant put more fish in the box.....

happy fishing
Dave

WE Have Weakfish in the bay

The phone call came in late last night about weakfish around the marsh areas on soft rubber baits..... Pink/White....

The guys had good action before dark through the nights on both tides.....

I had just got off the phone with a good friend who said he had 3 fish around 6-8 pounds and the seem to be on grass shrimp and crabs.....

They also had a couple very small bass mixed and no Blue fish which is great for saving on rubber baits....

I will be getting out after dark a couple times this week.... I will keep everyone up to date as to what is working and best tides......

Thanks
Dave

That's good news!  I heard the same thing...back side of IBSP is livening up and the weakies are here.  Need to find a night and hit my weakfish honey hole from when I was a teen and see if it is still producing?

Good luck when you get out.

Charlie.....Great to hear from you.... This has just been the most crazy year I have seen.... Both out in the back bay and along the ocean front...I sure cant wait until after the holiday weekend....Boat traffic will shut down and then I can fish hard again.....

We should all try to get out together this fall...I know we tried this in the spring.... But lets shoot for a fall trip out..... What do you think..... t^

Dave...  Just back from Salem. Damn, long haul - only took 7.5 hrs to get there and 6.75 to back.
Largest bass of the tourney was 42" caught in Winthrop at night on an eel. Lots of smaller bass caught - just none by me!!! nosmly
Salem Harbour was well protected from "Bill's wrath" so swells were not an issue - get out front though and that's a whole different story...

Anyways, YES - let's put a trip together for the fall and see what happens! t^

Don't have to go that far!  Right off the beach in Brigantine. Find yourself a bunker pod, snag hook one and hold on. You'll have to use some pretty heavy duty mono to prevent chaffing; the tails' denticles will nick-up the line.
If I'm not mistaken you'll find browns primarily, with an occasional threasher.
